Mr. Melvin Murphy, Sr.

Funeral services for Mr. Melvin Murphy, Sr., age 67 of Hebert were held Saturday, June 29th, 10:00 A.M. at the Bethany Baptist Church with the Rev.'s Don Wright, Rev. Roy Moore officiating. Burial followed in the Bethany Cemetery under the direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia.

Mr. Murphy died Thursday, June 27th at the St. Francis Medical Center, Monroe after a long illness.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marie Oxner Murphy, Hebert; 2 sons, Mr. Guy Melvin Murphy, Jr., Davie, Fla. and Mr. Clif Murphy, Grayson; 1 daughter, Mrs. Penny Royals, Mangham; 3 brothers, Mr. Herman Murphy, Urania, Mr. Leroy Murphy, Hebert, and Mr. Earl Murphy, Hebert; 1 sister, Mrs. Juanita Dunn, Monroe; 4 grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Carl McLemore, James McLemore, Al Turner, Billy Ray Jones, Russell Girod, Issac McClanahan.
