FUNERAL OF MRS. MELVINA SLOCUM

OAKDALE, La., Oct. 20. -- (Special) -- Funeral services for Mrs. Melvina Slocum, 64, of Lone Pine, who died in a Bunkie clinic Friday, will be held at the Lone Pine Baptist church Saturday. Interment will be made in the Griffin cemetery with Hargrove Funeral Home of Oakdale in charge.

She is survived by her husband, R. D. Slocum of Lone Pine; three sons, Roy Slocum and Reginald Slocum, both of Lone Pine; Morris Slocum of Orange, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. B. G. Wall of Lone Pine; Mrs. A. J. Creel of Oakdale; Mrs. B. S. Dossmann of Centerville; an adopted granddaughter, Mrs. Clarice Brown of Newman, California; a brother, M. A. McDonald of San Francisco; a sister, Mrs. Tom Nealey of Robeline; 16 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
