Meyer M. Armstrong

Meyer M. Armstrong, 78, of England Road, Moncks Corner, a former building contractor and owner of Armstrong Construction Co., died Monday evening in a Charleston nursing home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday morning, June 21, 2001, in the chapel of DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. Burial will be in Beaufort National Cemetery with Military Honors. Friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday, June 20, 2001, from 6 until 8 p.m.

Mr. Armstrong was born April 10, 1923, in Wisner, La., a son of Dennis Armstrong and Annie Parker Armstrong McDaniel. He is an Army veteran of W.W.II. He is a member of United Pentecostal Church of Moncks Corner.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret L. Shows Armstrong; five sons, Doyle L. Shows, Jerel M. Armstrong, Kenneth Roy Armstrong, and John Dennis Armstrong all of Beaufort, and Rev. Charles Armstrong of Moncks Corner; nine sisters, Dolly Privett of Tioga, La., Clarence [sic Clarice] Williams, Dixie Williams, Sally Adams, all of Newellton, La., Elsie Ruth Kelly of Rayville, La., Joyce Felter and Shirley Floyd, both of Natchez, Miss., Ina Foster of W. Monroe, La., and Carol Cannon of Baton Rouge, La.; one brother, Amos McDaniel of Newellton, La.; numerous grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Meyer Armstrong of Moncks Corner, SC., are invited to attend the funeral services for the former, 11:00 am., this Thursday morning, June 21, 2001 in the Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. Interment will follow at 2:30 pm in US National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC.
