Mike Freeman

Mike Conner Freeman, 92, of Summit, died April 22, 2016 in his home.

Visitation is 9 a.m. Monday at Hartman Funeral Home until services there at 11. Bro. Jim Cason will officiate and burial will be in the Montgomery Cemetery.

He was born February 21, 1924, in Pike County, the son of Nora Estelle Norton Freeman and Wren R. Freeman.

Mr. Freeman was a World War II veteran, a maintenance worker at Kaiser Aluminum, an avid hunter and fisherman, and a Saints fan. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a “big teddy bear”. He was the sweetest man you'd ever meet.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William Freeman and Jack Freeman and sisters, Leona Freeman Chisolm and Bobbie Freeman Carter.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Joy Alexander Freeman; a son, Michael A. (Patsy) Freeman; and two daughters, Charlotte June Freeman and Trudy Freeman (Joseph) Miller; a brother, Donald (Geraldine) Freeman; and three sisters, Inez Brown, Geneva Muirhead and Shirley Chisolm; his grandchildren, Mary Wincek, Amanda Lepage, Jeremy Schnell, Cassandra Sweeney, John Miller, Paul Miller, Conner Miller and Caroline Miller; five great-grandchildren, Lilly and Luke Wincek, Jonathan Lepage, Brenlyn Schnell, and Lillian Sweeney.

Pallbearers are Jeremy Schnell, Conner Miller, Joseph Miller, William “Billy” Freeman Jr., John Miller, Tony Chisolm and Terry Chisolm.
