MRS. PORTER HAILES

MOSELLE, Miss. -- Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Batts Hailes, 65, were held Saturday, 3 p.m., from the chapel of Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home, Jackson. Burial was in Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. B. K. Hardin officiated.

Mrs. Hailes, a resident of 4124 Bullard Street, Jackson, was a native of Graves County, Ky., but the Batts and Hailes families had lived in Moselle for many years before moving to Jackson 18 years ago. Mrs. Hailes died late Friday afternoon at the Hinds General Hospital, following a long illness.

She is survived by her husband, Porter G. Hailes; one son, Edward Hailes; two daughters, Mrs. Patsy Wilson and Mrs. Peggy Pickel, all of Jackson; two brothers, Eutica Batts, Arlington, Tex.; James Kendall Batts, Plymouth, Mich.; four grandchildren and several other relatives who live in Moselle and Laurel.

Pallbearers were John Bonner, Robert Brown, Asa Luter, T. T. Warren, C. L. Conerly and Roy Sandifer.
