MILDRED MOYERS ``POODLE'' MAGEE

Mildred Moyers ``Poodle'' Magee of Winnsboro, LA died Sunday, November 16, 2008. She was 83 years of age. Born April 20, 1925 in Crowville, LA., she was the daughter of Jesse Harden Moyers and Ida Belle Purvis Moyers.

She is survived by her daughter, Gayla Magee Stevens and husband Barry of Winnsboro, LA, son Mickey Landis Magee and wife Audra of Ferriday, LA, son-in-law Russ Morrow of Monroe, LA, grandchildren, Jessie S. Hamby and husband Rett of Ruston, LA, Jenny S. Juneau and husband John of Ruston, LA, Jackie Stevens of Ruston, LA, Laura Morrow, Caroline Morrow, Matthew Morrow and Mark Morrow all of Monroe, LA and Brooke Magee, Glaston Magee and Garrett Vincent all of Ferriday, LA. She is also survived by sisters Jean Fletcher and Nell Walley both of Winnsboro, LA, sister-in-laws Rose Moyers of Abilene, TX formerly of Orange, TX and Majorie Moyers of Monroe, LA formerly of Delhi, LA, brother-in-law Rev. Joe Solomon of Monroe, LA and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Landis L. Magee, and daughter, Lisa Magee Morrow. Also preceding her in death were her sisters, Ethel Elosie ``Bunchie'' Solomon, Cleo Henderson and Mary Neal Chovanec and brothers Clyde Moyers and Albert Moyers.

Mrs. Magee was a graduate of Crowville High School. She spent her life taking care of her family. She loved the Lord and professed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age. ``Poodle'' as she was known by all her family and friends, loved to read her bible, crochet and work in the yard. Visiting with family and friends always provided her with enjoyment. She filled her visitors with laughter as she told stories from her life or talked about current events.

Visitation for ``Poodle'' will be from 10:00 A.M. until noon, Monday, November 17, 2008 at Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro. A graveside service at Crowville Masonic Cemetery in Crowville, LA celebrating her homecoming, will be that afternoon at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Johnny Hankins officiating.

Pallbearers will be Gene Carron, Mike Ellerbe, Kelly Martin, Russ Morrow, Guy Smith, and Gene Thompson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Winnsboro or to a charity of choice.
