Services Held For Mrs. Mildred Harrell

Services for Mrs. Mildred Mae Harrell were held at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel Oct. 2 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Adam Bordelon of Brushy Creek Baptist Church officiated assisted by the Rev. Ricky Edwards. Interment was in New Bunker Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Harrell died unexpectedly Sept. 30 at Marion County General Hospital. She had been in ill health for some time. She was 66 and was born July 18, 1911 in Florence to Wiley and Anne Haley Jones. She was a resident of the Improve community for approximately 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter S. Harrell, April 18, 1973. Mrs. Harrell attended Brushy Creek Baptist Church and was a member of Gates Road Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Walter Harrell, Jr. of Rt. 4, Columbia; three daughters, Mrs. L. W. Peavy of Improve, Mrs. Robert Pittman of Kokomo, and Mrs. James G. Bass of Pensacola, Fla.; two step-sons, D. S. Harrell of Columbia and Charles Harrell of Ruston, La.; three step-daughters, Mrs. W. E. Morgan of Bridge City, La., Mrs. W. C. McCain and Mrs. Ray Mullins, both of Columbia; one brother, Oscar Jones of Tylertown; four sisters, Mrs. Esco Baughtman and Mrs. Mary Sawyer, both of Tylertown, Mrs. J. C. McBeth of New Athens, Ohio, and Mrs. A. U. Stockstill of Picayune; 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Donnie Sawyer, Clifford Stockstill, Lee Roy Baughtman, Ike Sawyer, Charles Sawyer, and William Earl Jones.
