Milton Prentice Jowers
Services for Mr. Milton Prentice Jowers, 79, of Conway, formerly of West Monroe, La., will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2003, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe with the Rev. Robert Dandridge officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Calhoun, La.
Mr. Jowers was born in Ouachita Parish on Feb. 27, 1924, and died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at Arkansas Hospice, Conway Regional Medical Center.
He was retired from the VA Hospital in Pineville, La., as an X-ray technician. Prior to working there, he was at the VA Hospital in Houston, Texas, and the Paris Sanitarium in Paris, Texas.
Mr. Jowers and his wife participated in many trail rides with their horses, mules and wagon in several states.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Esther Pearl Donald Jowers; his parents, Hiram Francis and Jeffie Lee Jowers; brothers, Frank, Cleve, Dick and Alva Jowers; and a sister, Stella Hale.
Survivors are a daughter, Francine Clark and her husband, Ronnie, of Little Rock; a son, A. Ray Jowers and his wife, Paula of Pineville; two grandsons, Jeffrey Todd Wilburn of Little Rock and Donald Ray Jowers of Beaumont, Texas; four great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation was Saturday at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.
