Minnie A. Temple

Minnie A. Temple, 84, of Hammond, La., and formerly of Pike County, died Nov. 20, 2005, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond.

Visitation is 5 to 8 tonight at Catchings Funeral Home in McComb, and noon Wednesday until services there at 2 p.m. The Rev. Carlin Sanders will officiate. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.

Mrs. Temple was born June 24, 1921, in Ruth. She was the daughter of John Calvin Brekeen and Lula Bell Johnston Brekeen.

She was a retired waitress and a member of the Pentecostal faith.

Mrs. Temple was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rufus Temple; one son, David Temple; a grandson, Shane Hart; and four brothers, Herman Brekeen, J.C. ``Doc'' Brekeen, James ``Jake'' Brekeen and Milton ``Buddy'' Brekeen.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Brenda Temple of Hammond; two daughters and sons-in-law, Norma and Floyd ``Butch'' Handley, and Linda and Steve Neel, all of Hammond; two brothers, Glen Brekeen of Denham Springs, La., and Lynn Brekeen of Baton Rouge; one sister, Mildred ``Sis'' Cranford of Denham Springs; 10 grandchildren, David Hart, Chris Hart, Randy Handley, Steve Handley, Kelly Zimmer, Steve Neel Jr., Chase Temple, Erin Plauche, Becky Temple and Janelle Temple; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
