Mrs. Minnie Evans

JONESVILLE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie C. Evans, 66, of Jonesville, were at 1 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church here with the Rev. James O. McNair and the Rev. Roger Johnson officiating.

Burial was in Gwinn Cemetery at Mangham under direction of Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville for Mrs. Evans, who died Wednesday in Center Pavillion Hospital in Houston, Texas after a long illness.

A long-time resident of Jonesville, Mrs. Evans was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Doris Taylor and Mrs. Juanita Talley, both of Jonesville; three brothers, Gerald Cheek of Transylvania, Leo Cheek of Mangham and Steve K. Cheek of Lake Providence; two sisters, Mrs. Tempie Evans of Ferriday and Mrs. Nobie Gaspard of Lake Charles; and three grandchildren.

The family requests that any planned memorials contributions be made to the M. D. Anderson Research in Houston, Tex., and the Baptist Children's Home at Monroe.
