MITTIE STRINGFELLOW

Mrs. Mittie Byrd Stringfellow, 95, of 803 E. Fourth St., died early Thursday evening in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 11, 1878, in Calhoun County and lived in the El Dorado area for 60 years. She was the widow of the late Ben F. “Uncle Ben” Stringfellow and the daughter of W. A. and Sophronia Lee Byrd. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of El Dorado.

She is survived by two sons, Howard Stringfellow, El Dorado, and Marcus Stringfellow, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Dobson and Mrs. Versa Atwood, both of El Dorado, seven grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Young's Chapel with Dr. Don B. Harbuck and Alvin Murray officiating.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Benjy Stringfellow, William David Varnell, Johnny McMurray, Lamar Atwood, Carl Spear, and Byrd Morrison.

Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Young's.

The family will be at the residence of Mrs. Ruth Dobson, 803 E. Fourth St.
