Mrs. Williams
Mrs. Williams, pioneer of this community, died Monday in OKC. She would have been 68 yrs old early next month. She had been ill only a short time.
Mrs. Williams came here with her husband, the late William F. Williams, and family from Bosques county, TX. In 1889 and settled a half mile south of town on the place that is now the farm of Athel Williams, her son. They lived there a short time before moving to Minco where they lived for nearly 20 yrs before returning to make their home at Tuttle.
She leaves to mourn her passing; 3 daughters and one son; Mrs. Ollie Gillum of Tuttle, Mrs. Lottie Ray of OKC, Mrs. Margaret Pierson of OKC, & Athel Williams of Tuttle. Three brothers and three sisters; Mr. Frank Foster & F.A. Foster of OKC, Abe Foster of Capitan, NM, Mrs. Alice Thomas of Tuttle, Mrs. Frank Henley of Amber, & Mrs. R.L. Park of Tuttle, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Williams obeyed the Gospel under the late T.B. Larimore of Minco and became a faithful member of the Church of Christ.
Funeral services were conducted at the Church of Christ Wednesday by Will M. Thompson, pastor, who gave a beautiful tribute to a good woman whose life was lived to life's fullest blessing. The largest crowd to ever assemble at a funeral service at the Church of Christ paid last tribute to Mrs. Williams.
Pallbearers were: Gordon Hill, D.D. Banta, and Horace Potter of Tuttle, Paschall Sharp, Jack Pope, & Grady Merritt of OKC.
Burial was in the family lot in Fairview cemetery. Harry Sowers Funeral home had charge of funeral arrangements.
