Mona Sharp, age 77, of Jena, LA, was received into Heaven on Sunday, October 18, 2015.

She was born to the union of Dock Madison Young and Allie Mae (Smith) Young on Monday, April 18, 1938 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Mona was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Travis Sharp; two daughters, Sharon Sharp and Joan Sharp; and one son Lester Sharp.

Those left to love and miss her are three daughters, Rose Wyatt & husband Rick of Mobile, Alabama, Donniece Ford & husband Buster of Manifest and Mona "Flapper" Sharp & fiancé Lee Corley of Columbia; three sons, Louis Wayne Sharp & wife Lynette of Columbia, Shelby Sharp of Lake Charles, and Charlie Sharp of Jena; two sisters, Frances Wilson of Jena; Dot Bonnecaze & husband Ronnie of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Ricky “R.C.” Young & wife Jerie of Shreveport and Gordon Young of Jena; fifteen grandchildren and thirty-nine great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at 10:00am until service time at 2:00pm in the Chapel Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. Johnny Keene, Rev. Davis Wiggins II and her son Charlie Sharp officiating Mrs. Sharp will be laid to rest in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Rhinehart, Louisiana.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers, Shelby Sharp, Charlie Sharp, Buster Ford, Lee Corley, Clint Mac Sharp and Tony Shadows.
