WILLIAMS, MORD OTIS

Died at 7 p.m. Monday at Baton Rouge General Hospital at the age of 63. A resident of 1832 Oregon St., he had been employed by the State Department of Labor for the past 30 years and was a native of Pollock. He was serving as chief of the benefit division of the department at the time of his death.

The body will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home until 9:45 a.m. Wednesday. Religious services will be conducted at the First Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Mark Roberts. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be William S. Dyson, Harry P. Hill, Arthur Viallon, Emile Newman, Herbie Kane and William L. Watson.

He is survived by his widow, the former Virgie Leigh Miller of Jena; two daughters, Mrs. W. H. Broyles, Leesville, and Mrs. Roger Ulmer, Baton Rouge; one sister, Mrs. Harding Walters, Leesville; four bothers [sic brothers], S. O., Monroe; C. O., Goodpine; O. L., Alexandria, and J. O., West Monroe and seven grandchildren.

He attended First Baptist Church and was a member of Nicholson Post 38, American Legion; Carrietta Lodge No. 312, F&AM, in Trout, and International Association of Employe Service, Local No. 421.

M. O. Williams, Former Resident of Jena, Succumbs

M. O. Williams, 63, of Baton Rouge, died in a hospital there Monday, May 7. He was a native of Jena. Mr. Williams was employed by the State Department of Labor. He attended the First Baptist Church, was a member of Nicholson Post No. 38 of the American Legion and Carrietta Lodge No. 312, F&AM, Trout.

Funeral services were held May 9 at the Baton Rouge First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Roberts officiating. Burial followed in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife, the former Virgie Leigh Miller, daughter of Mrs. Mary Miller of Jena; two daughters, Mrs. W. H. Broyles of Leesville and Mrs. Roger Ulmer of Baton Rouge; one sister, Mrs. Harding Walters of Leesville; four brothers, S. O. Williams of Monroe, C. O. Williams of Good Pine, O. L. Williams of Alexandria, J. O. Williams of Monroe, and seven grandchildren.
