DODSONIAN DIES ON CLINIC VISIT

Morgan Branch Stricken By Fatal Heart Attack While Visiting Ill Son

Winnfield, La., Aug. 22. -- (Special) -- Morgan Branch, 64-year-old Dodson, La. farmer, died from a sudden heart attack at midnight Sunday, while visiting his son in the Winnfield General Hospital.

Branch was stricken by a heart attack when he left the room of his son, Windle [sic Wendell] Branch, for a glass of water. His son has been a Brights Disease patient at the Winnfield hospital for more than five weeks. Hospital officials stated that Morgan Branch had been warned that he needed rest, but he preferred to stay with his son as much as possible.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rosa Elliott Branch; three daughters, Mrs. Gilbert Cockerham of Dodson, Mrs. Alson Geter [sic Jeter] of Winnfield, and Mrs. Ivey Rollen [sic Ivy Rolen] of Hudson, La.; and three sons, Jack, Windle [sic Wendell] and John Branch, all of Dodson.

Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Ella Barret, of Miss., and Mrs. Anna Wade, San Antonio, Texas, and one brother, Ozy Branch of Dallas, Tex., and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the New Hope Methodist Church in Dodson, La., where Morgan Branch was a prominent life-time resident. Services will begin at 2 p.m. today. Interment will be in the New Hope Cemetery, directed by Rev. Grant and Rev. L. G. Shaw.
