Died 10:40 p.m. Sunday, Dec 27, 1981 at Dixon Memorial Hospital, Denham Springs. He was 73, a native of Franklin County, Miss., and a resident of Denham Springs. He was a retired Exxon Corp. employee.
Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, after 8 a.m. Tuesday. Religious services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Gerald Martin.
Burial in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery.
Survived by his wife Inez Whittington, Denham Springs; two daughters, Mrs. Leverne Whitehead, Denham Springs and Mrs. Natalie Dupey, New Orleans; a son-in-law Minton Whitehead, Denham Springs; four sisters, Mrs. Maybell Causey and Mrs. Nellie Flynn both of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Leona Perry, Denham Springs, and Mrs. Estelle Causey, Meadville, Miss; two brothers Jessie Whittington, Denham Springs and D. C. Whittington, Port Vincent; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Vaughn Whitehead, John M. Spring, Chance West, Bruce Whittington, Doug Wax, and Sidney Porrier.
Honorary pallbearers will be Elzie Tate, Ellis Hodgeson, Wilford Croft, Elmo Strupeck, David Jones Sr., Joe Flynn, Gene Allen, Stanley Wascom and Alton Curtis.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
