LAST RITES FOR MORRIS EARL NEWTON
Mr. Morris Earl Newton died at 9:40 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 1980 at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb, Mississippi. He was 69 years of age, a native of West Feliciana Parish in Louisiana, a resident of Liberty for 4 years, a former resident of Baton Rouge, La. He was a retired instrument specialist for Exxon Corporation in Baton Rouge and a member of the Liberty Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, October 13 in Newman Funeral Home Chapel.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Louise Terrell Newton of Liberty; two daughters: Mrs. Betty Newton Koonce, Aiken, South Carolina and Mrs. Dorothy Newton Fowler of Deer Park, Texas; one son, Morris E. Newton, Jr., Baton Rouge, La.; two sisters: Mrs. Ruth Scott, Jackson, La., and Mrs. Irene Rogers of Norwood, La.; three brothers: Lane Newton, Zachary, La., Eddie Newton, Ethel, La., and Willie Newton, Jackson, La.; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were the grandsons and nephews.
Rev. Aubrey Smith officiated. Interment was in the Liberty Cemetery. Newman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
