She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Irene Chamberlin, two siblings, Louis and Margaret Chamberlin, her husband, John Milton Hefner, Jr., her daughter, Margaret Ann Jones and stepson, Jack Hefner, all of the Dallas area.

Muriel was born in Dallas on August 20, 1923. She graduated from North Dallas HS in 1940 and briefly attended SMU, but did not graduate. Her adult life was spent living in Dallas, Port Aransas and Kaufman, Texas. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, her pets, playing games and cooking.

She is survived by her daughter Debbie Hefner Bodian of Denver, CO, stepson Bill Hefner, Rockwall, and son-in-law Ken Jones, Dallas. Grandchildren John (Annette) Jones of Round Rock, William (Alicia) Jones of Ashburn, VA, Christopher Jones of Austin, KJ Jones of Leander, Jill Hefner (Chris) Williams of Garland, Charlie (Kristie) Hefner of Noble, OK, Caitlin Bodian of Auckland, NZ, and David Bodian of Ft.
