Murl Sikes Thompson

Services for Mrs. Murl Sikes Thompson of West Monroe, La. were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at Sikes Baptist Church in Sikes, La., with the Rev. Virgil Jones officiating. Burial was in Sikes Cemetery under direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe.

Mrs. Thompson, 74, died from natural causes Sunday, March 4, 1990, at her residence. She was a retired elementary teacher from Ouachita Parish Schools with a B.A. degree in education from Northeast Louisiana University and a B.A. degree in chemistry from Northwestern Louisiana University. Mrs. Thompson was a member of the La. Retired Teachers organization and a member of Sikes Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Peggy T. Alford of West Monroe; a grandson, J. Paule Martin of Los Angeles, CA; a granddaughter, Reiko J. Martin of Los Angeles; and grand daughter Khala D. Alford of West Monroe. Mrs. Thompson was a former resident of Winnfield, La., where she attended Winnfield High School.
