Ferriday Man Electrocuted; Services Today
FERRIDAY (Special) -- Funeral services for Murriel Poole, 38, of Ferriday, were held at 3 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church here with the Rev. M. H. Fields officiating, assisted by the Rev. Ray Renfrow.
Entombment was in the Woodlawn Mausoleum in Ferriday under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Ferriday.
Mr. Poole was electrocuted at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday while working underneath a house, owned by Leo Young, who was having Poole install an air conditioning system.
At the time of the accident Poole was lying on wet ground drilling a hole for a wire when the drill bit struck a 220 volt live wire, according to Ferriday police.
Poole was killed instantly and his helper, Jimmie Schuchs said artificial respiration failed to revive him.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Sue Griffin Poole; three sons, Arthur Michael Poole, Robert Murriel Poole, and Kenneth Lyle Poole, all of Ferriday; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. K. Poole, Ferriday; four brothers, Reginal Poole, Ferriday; James Poole of Westerford, Okla., Jerry Poole, in the U. S. Army at Fort Hood, Tex., and Paul Wayne Poole, Monterey; four sisters, Miss May Poole, and Miss Rhetta Poole, both of Ferriday, Mrs. Alpha House of Ferriday and Mrs. Nelva Moss of Lake Charles.
