Myrtis Whitman, 88

Funeral services for Myrtis Marie Whitman, 88, of Hodge were held at June 3 at the Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Perry Lassiter and Dwayne M. Boudreaux officiating. Burial followed at the Antioch Cemetery.

Mrs. Whitman died May 31 at Lincoln General Hospital.

Born Feb. 21, 1914 in Sikes, she was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Whitman. She is survived by daughter, Faye Gaines of Hodge; sons, Bruce Whitman and wife Ann of Hodge, Ray Whitman and wife Lanette of Jonesboro and Rodger D. Whitman of Hodge; sisters, Roxie Aldy and husband David of Jonesboro, Josie Campbell of Shreveport, Annette Emanus and husband Tommy of Jonesboro, B.J. Ross of Westport, Wa. and Mary Johnson of Jonesboro; brother, Joe Parker and wife Vickie of West Monroe; step-brother Willie Terry of West Monroe; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Kent Gaines, Tim Gaines, Darron Whitman, Gaylon Whitman, Michael Whitman and Stacey Whitman.

Services were under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.
