Funeral services for Myrtle Marie Freeman Burt will be on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive) at 11 AM with burial to take place in the Arlington Baptist Church Cemetery immediately afterwards. Bro. Gene Erwin and Bro. Ronny Robinson will be officiating the services, while Brookhaven Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will also be at Brookhaven Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, February 15, 2016.
Mrs. Burt, 90, passed from this life on February 13, 2016 at Brook Manor Nursing Home in Brookhaven, MS. She was born April 3, 1925 in Franklin County, MS, to William Lee and Rosa Ophelia Freeman. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Brookhaven, MS. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Julius Burt; son, Jimmy Lynn Burt; great granddaughter, Ann Marie Graham; and brother, A. J. Freeman.
Survivors are her daughter, Audrey B. Allgood and her husband Clyde; sons, Julius William “Bill” Burt and his wife Judy, Larry Dale Burt and his wife Becky, and Lee Van Burt and his wife Lisa, all of Bogue Chitto, MS; grandchildren, Jim, Tom, and Brad Burt, Allison B. Graham, Misty Morrison, Stacy Foote, Clay Johnson, Ryan Burt, and Megan B. Smith; great-grandchildren, Devin, Justin, and Dillon Burt, Brittany Reeves, Jesse and Colton Brister, Katelyn Morrison, Kyle, Cheyenne, and Brooks Burt, Nikki Burt, Abigail and Atleigh Ray Graham, Ella Marie and Ava Brooke Johnson, and Kolby Foote; great-great-grandchildren, Haley and Sophie Reeves, Kylie and Sutton Burt, Stella Smith, and Ryder Burt; brother, Laness Freeman and his wife Katie Nell of Summit, MS; sister-in-law, Dot Branch of Summit, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
