Funeral Services To Be Held For Mrs. J. D. Morse
Funeral services for Mrs. J. D. Morse of Route 4, Winnfield, who died Monday,
December 3, will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 o'clock.
Mrs. Morse, 40 years of age, passed away in the Baptist Hospital, Alexandria.
Last rites will be conducted at the Old Union Church, Joyce, La., with
arrangements in charge of the Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Rev. Penn
Russell of the Old Union Church will preach the services.
Mrs. Morse was born September 14, 1905 in Mississippi. She was married to J.
D. Morse February 23, 1922, at Winnsboro, La., and they became residents of
Winn Parish soon after that date. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Effie Upton, Delhi, La.; husband, J. D. Morse,
Route 4, Winnfield; four sons, John D. Morse, Allen Morse, and Billie Morse,
all of Route 4, Winnfield, and Alton in the Navy; one daughter, Cammilla
Morse, of Winnfield; two brothers, C. L. Upton and J. S. Upton of Delhi, la.;
six sisters, Mrs. Ella Warren of Chisdister, Ark., Mrs. Roma Wilson of West
Monroe, Mrs. Ruth Harrel of Leesville, Mrs. Ruby Dyer of West Monroe, Mrs.
Mary McNair of Sicily Island, and Mrs. Sarah Yates of Delhi, La.
Thursday, December 6, 1945
