LOCAL AND PERSONAL

Mr. N. D. Vernon died at his home in Vernontown last Thursday morning about two o'clock, after a long illness of Bright disease. For several weeks his life has been despaired of, and the end was not unexpected by those near to him. He was 62 years of age and was a member of the Baptist Church, living a quiet cousistant [sic consistent] Christian life.

Mr. Vernon was a native of Bibb County having lived in Vernontown all his life, and at the time of his death lived within caliing [sic calling] distance of the place where he was born.

He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Guy Kornegay, one sister Mrs. Jas White, one half sister, Mrs. J. B. Wright, and one half brother, Mr. A. J. Vernon, besides a host of relatives and friends, who are deeply grieved to lose him.

The remains were interred at the family cemetery in Vernontown, Friday, Rev. Burl Dyer conducting the funeral service.
