McCarty Rites Slated Friday

Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth McCarty, 80, of 1120 Evergreen St., West Monroe, will be held Friday.

A prayer service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe.

The funeral rites will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Oak Grove Baptist Church of Winnsboro with the Rev. Billy Woods officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Sikes and a member of the Landmark Baptist Church of West Monroe.

Survivors include five sons, Kirby McCarty of Winnsboro, Lanny [sic Lanie] McCarty of Saline, and Odell McCarty, Rosefield McCarty and Ernest McCarty, all of West Monroe; two daughters, Mrs. Bertis Brown and Mrs. Mamie White, both of West Monroe; a brother, Lawrence Johnson of Vidalia; and 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
