Longtime Resident of Sweetwater Dies

SWEETWATER -- Nathaniel (Pat) H. McElroy, 72, 601 E. Ave. B., died Sunday at 4 p.m. at Simmons Memorial Hospital.

Mr. McElroy, a rancher working for Lance Sears, had lived in Sweetwater since he was 6 weeks old. He was born Feb. 18, 1888, in Erath County.

Surviving are four sons, A. McElroy of Clarendon, Ray of Odessa, B. L. of Pleasant Hill, La., and Wade of Monrovia, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. B. P. Chrane and Mrs. C. M. Woozencraft, both of Big Spring; five sisters, Mrs. Stella [sic Della] Montgomery, Mrs. Lydia Wade and Mrs. Callie Rasberry, all of Sweetwater, Mrs. Mollie Hatterton [sic Hadderton] of Roby and Mrs. Ada Anderson of Waco.

Peterson Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements. The body is being sent to Murphy Funeral Home in Clarendon. Services and burial will be held there.
