Bailey, Nelda “Honey”

Nelda “Honey” Bailey passed away on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 1:07 pm. Private interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. We will celebrate her life at 2 pm Monday, White's Chapel United Methodist Church, 185 South White Chapel Road, Southlake.

She was born October 30, 1932 to Chester and Omie Gregory. Nelda graduated from Nacogdoches Demonstration School in Nacogdoches, Texas. She attended Port Arthur Business College, and worked for the Texas Company. She married Carl Bailey on April 21, 1951 and moved to San Diego where Carl was serving in the Navy. They moved to Irving, Texas in 1970 where she was a member of Plymouth Park United Methodist Church. She worked in the fashion industry for many years, was president of the Irving Symphony League, worked on Texasfest, and played on many bridge clubs. In 1994, she opened and operated Chelsea Lane Children's Boutique in Colleyville. Nelda will be remembered for her style, grace and passion for life.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Carl Bailey; daughter, Jill Rinaldi; son, Jon Bailey; sister, Jo Ann Jouette; 5 grandchildren.
