Nellie B. Rowland
Nellie B. Rowland, age 92, of Plano, Texas, formerly of Little Rock and Warren, died Friday, May 24, 2002, at her home in Plano.
Born September 2, 1909, in Marsden, she was the daughter of the late James and Maude Morgan Brooks.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Plano, Texas, a former member of the Markham Street United Methodist Church of Little Rock, and a past long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Warren. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a brother, Sam Brooks of Johnson City, TX; a nephew, James T. Henry and wife, Glenda, of Plano, TX; other nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Rowland; a daughter, Mary Emma Rowland; 2 brothers, Glen Brooks and Dick Brooks; and a sister, Lois Henry.
Graveside services were Sunday, May 26, at Oakland Cemetery in Warren with Rev. Wayman Mann officiating. Arrangements were by Frazer's Funeral Home of Warren.
Active pallbearers were Rob Loomis, Jerry Johnson, James Thomas Henry and Joe Mack Chambers.
Mrs. Rowland's daughter, Mary Emma Rowland, was one of the first kidney transplant recipients in Bradley County in July 1979. Memorials preferred to the National Kidney Foundation of Arkansas, P O Box 453, Little Rock, AR 72203.
