Mrs. Nellie ‘Ma Cooter’ Garcin
January 29, 1930 - February 2, 2017

Funeral service for Mrs. Nellie ‘Ma Cooter’ Garcin, 87, of Winnsboro, LA., will take place on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Boeuf River Baptist Church, with Rev. Benton Moore and Rev. Kevin Goodman officiating. Burial will be in Ogden Cemetery, all under the direction of Young’s Community Memorial Funeral Home-Winnsboro, LA.

Mrs. Garcin was born on January 29, 1930, in Franklin Parish and passed away on February 2, 2017, in West Monroe, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Bessie Faulk Hawsey; sister, Erma Mae Rolen; the father of her children, Floyd T. Warner; and son-in-law, Buddy Boyd. When Mrs. Garcin wasn't outside spending time in her garden, you could find her inside crocheting. Not only did she work as a supervisor for the garment factory but also owned and operated a convenience store, and was also a member of Boeuf River Baptist Church.

Survivors left to cherish her memory are her husband, Albert Garcin; daughters, Glenda Boyd, and Wanda Poland (Jackie); grandchildren, Jeff Poland (Pam), Tracy Duke (Chris), Richie Poland (Cherise), Michael Poland, Randy Boyd (Karen), and Christy Hill (Skipper), 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She will also be deeply missed by a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be her great-grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grand-sons.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, February 4, 2017, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the church.
