Nellie Marie Olney
Nellie Marie Olney, 90, died Saturday, January 31, 2004, at an Abilene medical center. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.
She was born to Mary Cora (Williams) and James David Strange on November 27, 1913, in Lewisville, Texas. She married James F. Olney on February 2, 1935, in Hawley, Texas, and moved to Abilene from Bradshaw, Texas in 1947. Mrs. Olney worked for Hendrick Medical Center in housekeeping. She was a member of Southside Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 27, 1992, and her parents.
Survivors include her daughters, Jodi Ash and husband, Rocky, of Clyde, and Donna Boatright and husband, Benny, of Abilene; sisters, Jerry Wood of Duncan, Oklahoma, Juanita Birdsong of Houston, and Velma Vigilante of Morris Plains, N.J.; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
