Nelson R. Swayze

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Funeral services were held today for Nelson R. Swayze, 61, retail advertising manager of The New Orleans States-Item. He died Tuesday after a lengthy illness.

A native of Tacoma, Wash., Swayze became retail advertizing manager of The New Orleans States in 1936 and retained the post when The States merged with the Item.
