Neva Lanier

On October 19, 2005, as the full harvest moon rose, Mrs. Neva Lanier departed this world to join her husband and family in their eternal home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Neva Richey Lanier, 78 of Manifest, LA, will be held at Pisgah Baptist Church, Manifest, LA, on Friday, October 21, 2005, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Larry Tucker and Rev. Albert Vicker officiating. Interment will follow at Andrews Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in Jonesville.

Mrs. Lanier was born on October 2, 1927. She was a resident of Manifest, a retired X-Ray Technician and a member of the Pisgah Baptist Church in Manifest, LA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Teddy Lanier; father, William Richey; mother, Lillie Ewing Richey; 3 grandsons, Steve Poole, ``Little'' Donnie Poole and Jace Bass; 3 brothers, J.W. Richey, Elbert Richey and Charlie Murphy Richey; 2 sisters, Romadee Whitmire and Lavern Cockerham.

Survivors include 4 daughters, Jennie Cole and husband Jimmy of West Monroe, Lillie Poole of Manifest, Patt Taunton and husband Maxie of Jonesville and Sue L. Smith and husband Louis of Jonesville; 2 brothers, Kerry Richey of Manifest and William Richey Jr. of Hineston; 3 sisters, Octavia Ainsworth of Enterprise, Unev Wright of Manifest and Lila Mae Shipley of Olla; 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

The pallbearers will be grandsons: Toby Poole, Tommy Varnell ``Boogie'' Bass, Jonathan Smith, Daymon Bass and Earnest Poole.

The honorary pallbearers wil be granddaughters, Vickie Book, Gayle Shidiskis and Stacy Freeman.

The family will receive friends at Pisgah Baptist Church, Manifest from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2005.
