NILS EDWIN SPENCER

Nils Edwin Spencer was born March 24, 1938 in OKC, to Edwin Milton and Lois Naomi (Dennis) Spencer. He passed from this life Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at his home in Cookson at the age of 66 years.

Nils was owner and operator of Spencer's Donuts in Tahlequah. He liked the water, enjoyed boating, water-skiing, camping and fishing, he also enjoyed the company of his friends and family. He was active in Education and Employment Ministry in OKC and a member of AA. Nils loved animals, especially dogs. His favorite part of running the donut shop was his 7 AM regulars who would come in to shoot the breeze.

Nils was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Melvin Askew.

Survivors include his wife Patricia (Drennon) Spencer of the home, his step-mother, Jean Eckles of Welch; his three daughters, Kelly Bear of OKC, Paula (Dennis) Wall of OKC and Kathy (Bruce) Phelps of Norman; seven sisters, Sandra (Harris) Henson, Kathy Secondine, Shirli (Ken) Tinsley, Toni (Brent) Clarkson, Shawna (Tommy) Webb, Suzi (Kurt) Castillo and Mary Elizabeth (Jason) Sears; a brother, Jon (Claudia) Spencer; and four grandchildren, Megan Bear, Allen Phelps, Jessica and Christopher Wall.

Services will be 2 PM, Sat., Oct., 2, 2004 at ReedCulver Chapel with Rev. Randall Johnson officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will include, Kenneth Tinsley, Jon Spencer, Bruce Phelps, Dennis Wall, Kevin Bohannon and Harris Henson.
