Nimrod Cheek, 101, To Be Buried Today

LEWISBURG, Tenn. -- Funeral services for Nimrod Porter Cheek, 101-year-old resident of Lewisburg, will be at 2 p.m. today at the Antioch Church of Christ.

Burial will be in Morton cemetery.

Mr. Cheek, a native of Maury county, died early yesterday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Kerr of Lewisburg, after a long illness.

He lived in the Leftwich Bridge community of Maury county most of his life.

Other survivors include, two other daughters, Mrs. Clarence Hardison, Columbia, and Mrs. Fred Green, Fayetteville, Tenn.; a son, Houston Cheek, Columbia, Tenn.; a sister, Mrs. Lillie Hardison, Shelbyville, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
