Funeral Service Set For Liberty Woman

CENTREVILLE, Miss. -- A 62-year-old Liberty, Miss. woman, Mrs. Nina Anders Marsalis, died at 8:40 p.m. Saturday in the Field Memorial Hospital here.

She is the widow of the late Earl E. Marsalis, and the daughter of the late Calvin and Georgia Whittington Anders.

Funeral services will be held at the Liberty Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. S. R. Pridgen officiating, assisted by the Rev. R. L. Mefford. Interment will be in Liberty Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are handled by Catchings' Funeral Home in McComb, Miss.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Earle Hollomon of McComb and Mrs. Jeanine Dixon of Liberty; two sons, Vernon Lee Marsalis of Washington, D.C. and William Carroll Marsalis of Brookhaven, Miss.; five sisters, Mrs. Etta Moore of Hebron Community, Miss.; Mrs. Maude Brumfield of Laurel, Miss.; Mrs. Winnie Cockerham of Liberty, Mrs. Earline Cunningham of Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Bessie McDowell of McComb; three brothers, Pollard and Joe A. Anders of Liberty and Frank Anders of Tangipahoa.

Mrs. Marsalis Dies

LIBERTY -- Funeral services for Mrs. Nina Anders Marsalis, 62, were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Liberty Baptist church. Burial was in Liberty Cemetery.

Mrs. Marsalis was a native of Amite county, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Anders. She was the widow of Earl Marsalis, longtime Liberty postal worker. An active member of Liberty Baptist church, she served as choir member and Sunday School teacher.

She leaves two daughters, two sons, five sisters, three brothers and seven grandchildren.
