Nina Juanita Girlinghouse Hudnall Mears
July 13, 1930 - October 31, 2014
Nita Girlinghouse Hudnall-Mears, 84 years old, entered her eternal home on October 31, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, her daughter, Gailda Page, her husband, Rev. David Hudnall (father of her children), and then by her second husband Rev. WP “Dub” Mears. Both thought she hung the moon.
Nita will forever be remembered by her loving family. She is survived by two sisters and two brothers; her daughters, Carolyn Whittington and her husband, Roger; Katie Brigmon and her husband, Ron; Rhonda Lane and her husband, Terry; son-in-law, Jack Page and his wife, Benita; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Her children rise up and call her blessed. Proverbs 31:28
Nita was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great- grandmother, and friend. She was a woman of God and a pastor's wife. To know her was to love her. She was devoted to her family and had been active in church, teaching many in Sunday School through the years. She was a proud member of the “Do Nothing Club” (a group of her faithful friends in Blanchard, LA) and cherished her time with those ladies.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home in Haughton, Louisiana. The family will receive visitors at 1:30 pm in the chapel. The service will follow at 3:00 pm. Burial will take place Monday, November 3, 2014, at 11:00 am at Tidwell Landing Cemetery in Jena, Louisiana. Officiating the services will be her son-in-laws, Roger Whittington and Ron Brigmon.
Pallbearers are Reggie Whittington, Billy Bob Brigmon, Will Whittington, Jeff Lane, Ethan Lane, and Chase Blevins. Honorary pallbearers are Jack A. Page, Brooks Brigmon, Rob May, Keith Soileau, Robert Callender, Caden Lane, Zack Ratcliff, Chance Blevins, and Nolen Ratcliff.
