Son Of Franklin Resident Killed Instantly Today

Noble W. McCarty, son of George McCarty of route three, Winsnboro, was instantly killed in an automobile accident this morning about 3:15 near Bastrop. The 26-year-old man was an employee of the Bastrop paper mill, according to early reports.

Sheriff E.L. Hinton of Morehouse parish told The Sun this morning, ``It looked like he was headed toward Bastrop. Just north of the Morehouse-Ouachita parish line, he evidently lost control of his car. The car turned over several times, throwing McCarty clear.''

The young man died instantly of a broken neck and crushed chest. His body is being brought back to Young Funeral home of Winnsboro this morning.

His automobile, a 1952 Oldsmobile, burned after the accident.

No details on survivors or funeral arrangements are available as The Sub goes to press.
