Mrs. Nona Kelly

Funeral services for Mrs. Nona Mae Kelly, 75, were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 10, 1994, from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Forest. Rev. Ron Gilstrap and Rev. Leon Everett officiated. Interment was made in the Salem Cemetery, Forest.

Mrs. Kelly passed away on Thursday, December 8, 1994, at Newton Regional Hospital, following an extended illness. Mrs. Kelly was a native of the Harperville community in Scott County. She had lived in Lawrence for the past year after being a longtime resident of the Greenville area. Mrs. Kelly was an active member of the Sixty-Plus Senior Citizens Organization in Greenville for several years prior to her retiring. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Newton.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Sarah Jo Majure of Lawrence; son, Franklin Kelly of Shelbyville, IN; sisters, Mrs. Allison Anderson, Mrs. Rachel Stringer, Mrs. Shirley Byrd of Lawrence and Mrs. Nola Alexander of Conehatta; brothers, John Posey of Lawrence, Roger Posey of Lake and Ray Posey of Coldwater; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Floyd Albert Kelly in 1982.

Pallbearers were Burt Kelly, Barry Kelly, Dewayne Kelly, Derek Morgan, Robert Kelly, and Chuck Miller.

Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest was in charge of arrangements.
