Died Sunday, March 18, 1990, at Lane Memorial Hospital in Zachary. She was 85, a native of Amite County, Miss., and a resident of Clinton. Funeral services at Whittington Memorial United Methodist Church, Gloster, Miss., 2 p.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Will Dowling. Burial in Whittington Memorial Cemetery, Gloster.
Survived by husband, James Curtis Bowman, Clinton; a son, William Whittington, Clinton; a daughter, Treace Whittington Smith, Denham Springs; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by first husband, Jasper Whittington; a son, J.P. Whittington; a daughter, Greate W. Herrington; an infant son; and parents, Tom and Mennie [sic Minnie] Way.
She was a member of Whittington Memorial United Methodist Church, Gloster. Brown Funeral Home, Gloster, in charge of arrangements.
