Norma Brown Montgomery
Funeral services for Mrs. Norma B. Montgomery will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville with Reverend Calvin Cantrell, Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Springhill Cemetery, Ball, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mrs. Montgomery, age 75, of Shreveport, entered eternal rest on Monday, October 24, 2011 in Shreveport.
She was a native of Rapides Parish, LA. During her early years in Alexandria, La. she was the administrative asst. to Mr. Cotton of Cottons Bakery. Norma was voted as “Most Beautiful” Secretary in Alexandria in the 60's. In 1972, Norma, her husband, and four daughters moved to Shreveport, where she worked as an Asst. to Mr. Bill Gordan of Gordan Companies until her retirement in 1985. Norma also went on to win Region VI Beauty Contest in Shreveport, LA in 2008.
Mrs. Montgomery was preceded in death by her husband, G.W. Montgomery; granddaughter, Christina; parents, Elmos and Vada Brown; two brothers, Gary and Ronnie Brown.
She is survived by four daughters, Debra G. Morgan and husband James of Shreveport, Carla M. Montgomery of Ravenna, Ohio, Brenda D. Cantrell and husband Calvin of Boyce, Elizabeth M. Peace and husband William of Keithville; fifteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three sisters, Carmen Smoot, Katherine Smith and Cheryl Kay Buller; ten nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.
