Norma Ridge
On March 15, 2006, Norma Ridge went home to be with the Lord after a long battle with congestive heart failure.
Born May 22, 1920, in Vernon, Texas, to James and Julianna Reid, Norma was the youngest of eight brothers and sisters. She grew up in Amarillo, where later the family moved to Colorado Springs. There she married Newell, her husband of 60 years. They later moved to California.
She was a mother, housewife and a “Rosie the Riveter” during World War II. In 1980, she retired from Vons and they returned to Colorado, where she enjoyed gardening and traveling. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and an active member of the Colorado Women's Association. After the passing of her husband, she moved to California to be close to her family. She joined the Senior Golden Years of Temecula Valley.
She is survived by daughter, Bonnie, and her husband, Mel of Temecula; and granddaughter, Laura Lee, also of Temecula.
The family wishes to send their heartfelt thanks to the staff and volunteers of Ramona VNA and Hospice.
Donations in Norma's honor may be sent to Ramona VNA & Hospice, 890 W. Stetson, Suite A, Hemet, CA 92543.
