Norma Rue Bryant Crenshaw
Jan. 20, 1921 -- Nov. 21, 2008

Norma Rue Bryant Crenshaw, a beautiful and beloved mother and wife, passed away Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at her home in Mansfield at the age of 87.

Funeral: 5 p.m. Tuesday at Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel.

Norma Rue Crenshaw was born on Jan. 20, 1921, to James and Roxie Bryant in Hollis, Okla., and grew up in Alanreed. She graduated as valedictorian and president of her class from Alanreed schools and returned as a teacher in 1944.

She married Clifton Crenshaw in 1947. She left the people of Alanreed who were dear to her all her life, and followed Clifton as a college professor to a junior college and then to the new Arlington State College in Arlington.

She ended her career as a teacher to begin her lifetime career as a devoted and talented homemaker and mother, and in both careers her love and kindness drew young and old, weak and strong to her. She was a blessing and a delight to all who knew her.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents and by her brothers and sisters, James, Louis, Sonny, Bonnie and Thelma.

Survivors: Adoring daughters, Donna Crenshaw and Debbie Crenshaw; sister, Effylene Mixon; sisters-in-law, Pansy Bryant, Willie Dee Bryant and their children; along with a host of other family and friends.
