Norman Wayne Spinks, 65, of Olla, passed from this life on Friday, August 15, 2008, at the LSU Medical Center in Shreveport.
He worked as a gauger in the oilfield.
Services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, August 18, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Kendall Price and Alban Poole officiating.
Interment followed in the Belah Cemetery near Jena under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc., of Jena.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Sterling Boatner (S.B.) Spinks.
Survivors include his mother, Edna Spinks of Trout; one step-son, Dr. William Anthony McGee of Clarksville, Tn.; one step-daughter, Lesa McGuffee and husband Keith of Trout; two brothers, Charles Spinks and wife Johnnie Mae of Trout, and Sam Spinks and wife Cathy of Lumberton, Ms.; two step-grandchildren, Misty King and husband Justin of Jena, and Chasity Talley of West Monroe; three step-great-grandchildren, Taylor King, Jacob King, and Kristen Talley; one niece, Linda McDowell; and three nephews, Robert Spinks, Van Spinks, and Chip Spinks.
Pallbearers were Robert Spinks, Chip Spinks, Seth McCartney, Darren McDowell, Jessie Whatley, Leon Gulde, and Keith McGuffee.
