OCE McDANIEL

Oce McDaniel, 99, of Lucedale, formerly of Laurel, died Sunday at George County Hospital in Lucedale after a brief illness.

The funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Erata Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Revs. David Thompson and John Magee will officiate.

Mr. McDaniel was a native of Jasper County. He was a former postmaster and merchant in Erata. He had retired from the railroad and was a member of Erata Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his widow, Merle Keller McDaniel of Lucedale; three stepsons, Fred Jordan of Magnolia, Ark. and Charles K. Jordan and Jack Jordan, both of Jackson; one daughter, Mrs. J. P. (Doris) McDonald of Lucedale; two grandsons, eight step-grandchildren; one great-grandson; and five step-great-grandchildren.

The body will be placed in Erata Presbyterian Church at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. today at Memory Chapel which is in charge.
