Odell Johnson Dies at Age 65
Odell J. Johnson, 65-year-old retired civil service electrician, died early today at his home, 609 1st Street, it was announced at the Johnson Mortuary.
He was born in Kaufman, Texas, March 26, 1897. He moved to Yuma three years ago from New York City, N.Y. He was a member of the Yuma lodge of Eagles and of the Richmond Hill Masonic Lodge in New York City.
Surviving are his wife, Christina of Yuma; a son, Richard, of Yuma; a daughter, Dorothy Johnson, of Yuma; five brothers in Texas, Elvin and Roy of Tyler, Jack of Amarillo, Eddie of Cushing, and Aaron of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Land of Swan, Texas, and Mrs. Ruth Pritchard of Tyler and three grandchildren.
There will be viewing hours Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Johnson Mortuary.
Funeral services will be held in the Johnson Chapel Thursday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Charles Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
