Oden Everett Bridges
(June 1, 1926 - December 25, 2007)

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2007 at 10:00 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in the Toro Community with Rev. Durhl Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27 beginning at 4 pm at the church.

Mr. Bridges was born on June 1, 1926 in Sabine Parish, LA and passed away on December 25 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Oden Bridges, mother, Sarah Beatrice (Stringer) Bridges, sister, Fern Burleson Herrington and brother, Curtis Bridges. He served his country in the Navy while in the Pacific Theatre during WWII and in the Army in the Korean War where he earned 4 battle stars. He loved to write, sing and play music.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marie Bridges of Florien; sons, Danny Bridges of Hornbeck, LA, Everett Bridges and wife Paula of Anacoco, LA, Albert Bridges and wife Maritza of Slidell, LA, William Bridges of San Diego, CA, Walter Bridges of Hornbeck, LA, Jerry Bridges of Leesville, LA; daughters, Elisabeth Dillard and husband, Kenneth of Anacoco, LA, Toni Palestina and husband Frank of New Orleans, LA, Roseanna Cardenas and husband Luis of Hornbeck, LA; sister, Orelee Patton of Anacoco, LA; brothers, Ivy Bridges of Florien, LA, Clifton Bridges of Hornbeck, LA, Edward Bridges of Leesville, LA; 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers: Danny Bridges, Everett Bridges, Albert Bridges, Walter Bridges, Gary Patton, Lloyd Burleson and CHristopher Dillard.

Honorary Pallbearers: Frank Palestina, Larry Hair and Kenneth Dillard.
