Mrs. James Walker
TEXAS CITY -- Mrs. James J. (Odie E.) Walker, 71, a Texas City resident for 31 years, died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday in Galveston County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Emken-Linton Funeral Home of Texas City. The Rev. A. O. Singer will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Park East.
Mrs. Walker was born Sept. 1, 1901, in Win[n]field, La.
She resided at 1113 - 11 1/2 St. North, Texas City, and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to her husband include four sons, Marvin Walker of Galliano, La., Bruce Walker of Oak Grove, La., Bobby Walker of Texas City and Johnny Walker of Kemah; three daughters, Mrs. Sybil Edwards of Richmond, Mrs. Lurlene Gates of Win[n]field, La., and Mrs. Edith Hammock of Texas City; a brother, Ferrell Fox of Alexandria, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Oleta Roberts of Win[n]field, La., and Mrs. Verlie Sanders of Sikes, La.; 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
