Rites Thursday For Librarian, Cancer Victim

ARDMORE--Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Ardmore with burial in Rose Hill cemetery for Mrs. Oita McCarty Jackson, 51, former Oklahoma City librarian who died of cancer Tuesday at the home of her mother, Mrs. Mary Lee McCarty.

Born near Ardmore, Mrs. Jackson was graduated from high school here, and later attended Our Lady of the Lake college, San Antonio. She was the wife of the late W. E. Jackson.

Mrs. Jackson returned to Oklahoma two years ago from Winston college, Walla Walla, Wash., where she served as house mother for a sorority. She was registration clerk for the Oklahoma City library.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by two brothers, W. J. McCarty, Ardmore, and Earl P. McCarty, Oklahoma City; an uncle, Everett Poole, Seattle, Wash., a niece, Georgie Ann McCarty, Oklahoma City; and a nephew, Ivylee McCarty, Ardmore.
