Olene Harrison

Funeral Services for Olene Harrison will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 in the chapel of Kramer of Colfax with Rev. Kenneth Holt officiating. Interment will be in Montgomery Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2011 and from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at Kramer of Colfax.

Olene Harrison, 80, of Colfax, passed away Friday, May 13, 2011 in Rapides Regional Medical Center.

She was a member of Montgomery and Colfax First United Methodist Church. She was employed with North Centrala, retired from the State of Louisiana and was an employee of Kramer Funeral Home for 13 years. Olene loved to fish, gardening, arts & crafts and playing cards with her friends. She was very active in her community and loved spending time with her dog, Decker.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Harrison; her parents, Otis and Viola Jones; one brother, Ellis Jones and one son-in-law, Jake Slaughter.

Olene Harrison is survived by five children, Nardie Harrison of Montgomery, Janis H. Jones and husband, David of Alexandria, Mel Harrison and wife, Teresa of Colfax, Connie Slaughter and fiancé, Terry VanBibber of Bentley and Debbie Beasley and husband, Mike of Colfax; one sister, Velma Lee Fletcher of Montgomery; fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be: Mike Slaughter, Hunter Slaughter, Trey Harrison, Jeremy Harrison, Charlie Harrison, Rodney White and Justin Crooks. Honorary Pallbearer will be: Billy Giddens.
