Oletha King Powell

RINGGOLD -- Services for Oletha King Powell will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Rocket with Brother Doug Pate officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Powell, 56, of El Dorado, Ark., died Tuesday in her residence.

She was born in Randliff [sic Randlett], Okla., April 19, 1924. She was raised in Amherst, Texas. In 1954 she moved to Castor, La., to raise her family. In 1976 she moved to Alexandria to become a house mother at the Masonic Children's Home. She lived here until August when she retired to make her home in El Dorado, Ark. She was a member of the Castor Chapter Eastern Star for more than 20 years.

Survivors include her mother, Elizabeth Malish of Amherst, Texas; three daughters, Estelle Fox of El Dorado, Ark., Yvonne Heron of Houston, Texas, and Leann Grose of Baton Rouge; one brother, Buddy King of Clovis, N.M.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
